Prof. Henry Boom

Henry Boom is Professor and Chief, Division of Infectious Diseases and HIV Medicine at Case Western Reserve University and University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center with a long-standing basic and clinical research program on the immunology of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, the cause of human tuberculosis (TB). His basic research is focused on the T cell response to M. tuberculosis and the molecular mechanisms used by M. tuberculosis to evade T cell immunity. Dr. Boom directs multidisciplinary international TB programs at Case Western Reserve University and serves as overall Director for the Uganda-CWRU Research Collaboration with local Directors, Professors Harriet Mayanja-Kizza and Moses Joloba.
