Joseph Willis is Professor of Pathology and Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University’s School of Medicine and Member of the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Developmental Therapeutics Program. Dr. Willis is also Vice Chair of Pathology Translational Research for CWRU/University Hospital Cleveland Medical Center. He has an ongoing research program on gastrointestinal pathology, investigating mechanisms of development and prognostic factors and early detection of gastro-intestinal neoplasms. He has a special interest in the use of artificial intelligence in routine pathology diagnostics. Dr. Willis is an active Investigator of the Uganda-CWRU Research Collaboration’s grant – Lung cancer in East Africa and the relationship to HIV-1 infection: epidemiology, molecular characterization and imaging.
