Janet McGrath is Professor and medical anthropologist at Case Western Reserve University with research interests in HIV risk, women’s health, HIV prevention, access to HIV treatment, and technologies for health. She has been a member of the Uganda-CWRU Research Collaboration since its inception in 1987. She co-founded the Center for Social Science Research on AIDS (CeSSRA) in collaboration with the School of Social Sciences at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda and the Anthropology-Engineering Collaborative with colleagues at Case School of Engineering and the Makerere University Program in Biomedical Engineering. She currently serves as Chair of the Department of Anthropology and Chair of the CWRU Faculty Senate
