Since its inception in 1986, the Uganda-CWRU Research Collaboration has been at the forefront of Uganda’s battle against the HIV/AIDS epidemic. Inspired by a presidential call to action and the vision of Nobel Laureate Dr. Frederick C. Robbins, the partnership has grown into a multi-disciplinary powerhouse in HIV/AIDS and TB research. Over the years, the Collaboration has transformed lives through groundbreaking research, capacity building, and training programs designed to equip local researchers with the tools they need to address pressing health challenges.

Our collaborative efforts have contributed to the development of effective treatment protocols, innovative diagnostic techniques, and strategies to combat the complications of HIV/AIDS and TB. By fostering partnerships with institutions like Makerere University and the Joint Clinical Research Centre, we continue to empower Ugandan researchers to take the lead in improving care and outcomes for vulnerable communities.
