George Yendewa, MD

George Yendewa is Assistant Professor of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases & HIV Medicine at Case Western Reserve University and attending physician at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.  His research focuses on the clinical and molecular epidemiology of HIV and HBV, HIV drug resistance, clinical consequences of HIV/HBV, HIV/SARS-CoV-2coinfection with endemic and emerging viruses (HBV, HCV, SARS-CoV-2, CMV, and HTLV-1/2), and the socio-cultural and economic determinants of HIV acquisition and outcomes.  Dr. Yendewa is Clinical Research Site Leader (Principal Investigator) of the AIDS Clinical Trials Unit at CWRU and with the Uganda project site based at the Joint Clinical Research Centre.  Dr. Yendewa has additional international collaborations ongoing in Sierra Leone and Liberia, West Africa.
